Abstract
In the United States, there are approximately 60% of all women in the reproductive age using contraceptive methods today (Kavanaugh ML. Jerman J. 2018, p.2). Of these women, very few are currently aware of how their birth control is working to prevent pregnancy. The focus of this literature review is to bring to light the different contraceptive methods and how they work. It is important that women become aware of the affects that birth control has on their body. This literature review also discusses the history of birth control and the diverse birth control methods available today. It also shows the different views that Christians may have on contraception.
